Lyndy Bush

Lynd

y Bush is a Native New Mexican oil painter working from her studio in Highlands Ranch, CO. She learned to appreciate and create art from her mother, who is an artist as well. She studied Anthropology at NMSU and this background brings an ethnographic approach to her work. After moving to Colorado in 2014 she fell in love with the Colorado scenery but feels a deep connection to the Southern New Mexican landscape. Her work is the story of her life and she welcomes you into her story through each piece.

Artistic influence: I am drawn to representational still life and southwestern landscape oil painting. While I work representationally, I am less drawn to photo-realistic details. Each piece is a challenge, where I balance finding the spirit of the subject without including every detail. I am drawn to the work of Caravaggio, Daniel Sprick, and John Singer Sargent for the way they captured the life of their subjects.

Lyndy Bush was featured in our Botanical Narratives exhibit February 11 - April 9, 2022. She also gives art lessons at SassaBird Fine Art.
